  Vibration and Drone on take off - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  Had this car for nine months now. From day one every time you take off there is a vibration. and low. frequency exhaust note that is just unacceptable especially for a $50k + car. Come to find out its a known problem Lexus is aware of. Many consumers are having this issue but according to Lexus they are saying one of two things. We know about the issue and do not have a fix at this time or its a characteristic of the. new model..Which. is it. Lexus, I would definitely stay away. Lexus quality has definitely taken a turn for the worse.

  Early impressions after an 02 Lexus LS 430. - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  This is an SUV not a Luxury Sedan, so the ride will take some adjusting to. It had 24 miles when we picked it up, now 550. The vehicle handles better in all aspects and we have likewise become comfortable with its strong response, transmission and how it settles to a relax mode but ready to surge. A lot of power on Eco mode, imagine Sport mode. Comfort is present at all times, driving safety features are excellent assists. Again, this a brief experience, time will provide more information.

  Overpriced - Not as advertised - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  Excellent ride but technology definitely lags other cars. HUD is totally USELESS and a joke at best. Speed limit is displayed randomly with no logic and makes no sense. It is always on the Navigation display in the center of the dash but only on the HUD less than 10% of the time at best. Where is the logic in that? When I took it back to the dealer, they said it was designed that way to reduce the clutter on the HUD and only show up occasionally as a reminder. Are you serious? When I look for it, it is because I want or need to know speed limit where I’m driving. So now I have to look at the navigation screen in the center of the console and take my eyes off the road. This is a 2018 car and the navigation database is June 2016 almost 2 years old. That is hilarious to me. To spend that much money on a navigation system and then turn around and have to go buy an update Which is 1 year old is insane. Save your money, and use your smart phone with Google Maps which is a better mapping system, more accurate, with latest data, and a better display. The PCS system does not even come remotely close to providing sufficient warning and application of the brakes to keep from hitting someone or something. There is no way you would want to be in front of a car and test the system. And in fact Lexus demonstration videos do not show any test of the system with actual people or vehicles in front of the car but a dummy is used instead. Good thing. I have ridden in a 2016 Infiniti QX60 that provides excellent warning and application of brakes. The 2018 Lexus is no comparison and the system will not adequately or safely perform. The rear hatchback will supposedly open with just a wave of your hand over the L symbol. It didn’t work when they demonstrated car to me, so they had maintenance department disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnected and it worked. When I went to pick the car up for delivery it did not work again. So they repeated the same battery disconnect. It worked before leaving the dealership but the following day it would not work again. I called the dealer and he said I had two options, that I could bring the car back into the dealership, or I could disconnect the battery myself and leave it disconnected for 30 seconds and then reconnect and it will start working again. Seriously? So I just bought a 60+ thousand dollar car and I am going to be disconnecting the battery to reset this system for another 24 hours. The logic for the electronic controls for the navigation system is not user-friendly at all. When you want to do something very simple you struggle through the menu items to find the screen that holds the selection you need to make and often times have to either pull out the manual or search online and find out how to get to the screen that you want to make the selection you need. There is absolutely no logic to that system. My daughters 2016 Infiniti QX 60 which is two years older has a much better and more logical menu system. When I purchased this lecture so I thought I was buying a better car but I was sadly mistaken. I fully intend to sell this car and replace it with a QX 60 for at least $10,000 less.

  Been Testing Out My New 2017 RX350 - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  I just went from a 2015 Audi Q7 TDI to the 2017 RX350. The RX350 seems lighter and more nimble. I read many review on the RX350 and disagree with the sentiments expressed regarding looks and handling. The RX350 bold and aggressive look out shines all of the rest of the SUVs. Its sporting look sends the message that Im not just another stogy SUV driver. The handling is light. The steering is light and easy as opposed to the stiffer Audi steering. Im not sure why people think a stiff steering is better, but I have no problems doing twisty roads. In fact it seems like I can do them quicker in the RX350 without a lot of body roll. Overall, Im extremely satisfied with the RX350.

  Great Ride-Instrumentation Poor - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  Great ride but the instrumentation is not for the "Grey Hairs"! Control switches are scattered about and difficult to read. Software has nice features but requires a smart phone. Phone Tech Support is lacking as agents are NOT really knowledgeable about all the features. Gas mileage on a recent 1,200 trip averaged about 25 MPG. Frontal view is terrible as it is very difficult to judge where the "real" front is located......be careful!

  Call it a small thing, but why would Lexus go out of their way to create a nifty holding compartment for an outdated phone size and place it right in the middle of the console? Technology is usually a good thing, right? Well in my opinion, Lexus overdid it. There are three ways to adjust the radio, the navigation etc. Why not just make it simple and make it great? Otherwise it is a fun car to drive and handles well.

  Expected way MORE from Lexus! - 2017 Lexus RX 350

  Me and my wife bought this RX350 almost a year ago, and she drives it 75% of the time. We are in our early 40s,our first luxury vehicle, previously owned: Isuzu, 2 Hondas, Toyota, Mazda, and 2 Subarus. Recently we took a road trip from Chicago – Miami ( 3,000 mile R/T). Vehicle currently has 15,000 miles and after I read all the mixed reviews I decided to help the undecided. Except for 2 free scheduled maintenances (5,000 and 10,000) car was never in service for any issues. Exterior design: you will either love it or hate it, no comments here, it is a matter of opinion. The good: 1. Luxury interior design with quality and soft materials. 2. Very roomy and quiet cabin, with absolutely no “plastic” squeaking. 3. Comfortable ride, not too soft, not too firm. 4. Very quiet up/down window operation. 5. Lots of room in the back seat. 6. Adjustable rear seats. 7. Great basic speakers. 8. Very convenient front heating seats. 9. Under the trunk floor actual spare tire, not like European competition just repair kit. The bad: 1. Grinding (drone) noise while slow take off around 1,500-2,000 rpm. Reported to Dealer during scheduled maintenance and the answer was: vehicle is operating normally. 2. Transmission forcing higher gears / lower rpm’s to save gas, this makes Eco and Normal modes annoying, Sport mode okay, keeping higher rpm’s and lower gears makes the drive a pleasure. 3. While idle, lots of vibrations of steering wheel, gear shifter and center console. 4. Throttle response is very, very slow (measured 0.6s). 5. When I start the car during cold months, it makes constant, a loud knocking “diesel like” sound in the engine, disappearing as vehicle warms up. Complained during 10,000 maintenance, and technician takes me to another brand new RX350. We started it and it sound like mine. He explained that high pressure fuel pump in the engine when it’s cold makes this type of sound and this is normal...? 6. Using the infotainment is very difficult, and screen menus are not intuitive at all. 7. Never know if AC is on or off, no indicator light or “old fashion” basic on/off switch. To check if AC is on or off you must go thru complicated 4 menu screens...unbelievable! AC compressor defaults to on, even when its 10F outside. 8. Trip odometers switches are hidden on the left side behind steering wheel. Even when stopped it is hard to locate and re-set trip odometer. 9. The front passenger door needs heavy force to close. I oiled it and closing is a bit smoother. 10. On the passenger side the chrome window trim has about 6 dents which we discovered the next day after we purchased. It looks like someone who installed the trim in the factory did this damage. 11. Transmission is confusing sometimes and not sure what to do, hesitates when you give gas. When you add gas the throttle slowly responds and you ends up with one of two: rabbit jump, or turtle motion! 12. Automatic rear hatch closing or opening very, very slow.13. No beep signal when vehicle is locked from the key fob, you are never sure from the distance if vehicle is secured. 14. Tiny holes on the seats makes it easy for crumbs to get stuck in 15. Not even an option to order heated rear seats. Think, and make your own decision before heading to store with your 50,000.
